UAP MCC 12th GMM: Corinthian Kapihan "R.A. 9266, What's Up?"
by: Omar Palero
The fiscal year ended for the UAP Manila Corinthian Chapter with a discussion on the status of RA9266. Some architects and members are unaware if the law is in effect or still pending the courts decision. No less than Ar. Armando N. Alli, APEC AR, was invited to shed light on the matter.
The presentation started with the facts and statistics. The speaker emphasized on the importance of documenting each individual registered architects. It was followed by the presentation of the Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of the Profession.
Through the discussion, he cleared that our law RA9266 is in effect, but admittedly, we are faced with a lot of hurdles in its implementation. Apart from promoting the law, simultaneously we need to promote our profession and its importance. There are pending cases on the violation of the act and these takes a long time to resolve. By promoting the practice, we will have a bigger voice especially in the Local Building Official that is dominated by the other profession.
